etsy-holics anonymous?

I've always thought that etsy was an awesome website but, when I started planning my wedding, I became addicted.  I can spend hours browsing through each category, even when I know I don't need to purchase anything from that category. Wedding jewelry? I've got mine. Does that stop me from wasting away hours on etsy, searching for wedding necklaces? Of course not!

Today I thought I'd share a few of the items that I've already purchased and a few of the items I'm convincing myself that I need to purchase. We'll see if I'll resist or if my mouse will make its way over to the "Add to Cart" button. :)

My very first wedding related purchase was this custom return address label stamp from lettergirl. I absolutely adore it! It'll be perfect for our wedding invitation envelopes, RSVP cards, thank you cards, and all other cards we'll send out as husband and wife!
The next item I purchased was actually something I saw featured in Martha Stewart's Weddings Magazine. I immediately fell in love. Paloma's Nest has lots of stuff to offer and my fiance & I decided on getting a simple "To have and to hold" ring bearer bowl. We plan on hanging it in our house as a decoration after the wedding. Isn't it the cutest thing you've ever seen? It fits in the palm of your hand! ADORABLE!
Another item that I love & purchased was a custom garter set from Lola in Lace. She has quite a few different colors to choose from and even added a butterfly pendant on both garters for me. I get to keep one and my fiance will toss one for a lucky bachelor to keep! :)
And now, a few items I've been salivating over...:
Pink Fresh Water Pearl ring from
Red Rosette Shoe Clips from
Personalized Hanger by
Forest Necklace by
Love is Brewing Tea Bag by
Custom Sterling Silver Butterfly Pendant with Crystal by
Happy etsy shopping!

feeling nostalgic...

After spending the evening rummaging through some old family photo albums, I just wanted to share a couple of photos of my beautiful parents. I simply adore these photos and hold them close to my heart.

Always remember to document your lives! Your children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren will appreciate it. Life is too short to not leave memories for our loved ones in the future.

wedding wednesday!

Since most of my life has been completely enveloped by this wedding, I figured I'd make each Wednesday post a "Wedding Wednesday" post!

Now, I would definitely NEVER call myself a DIY Queen. Not even a DIY Princess. I'm probably more like the DIY Jester. I can come up with a couple of ideas but have trouble executing them.... Until I saw this!

I was scrolling through and found an awesome DIY idea: during your romantic first dance, you provide disposable lighters for your guests to light up and sway in the air, just like you'd do at a concert, while your fave band is playing their best ballad. SWEET! And, I can't forget the DIY part of it all: you wrap each lighter in some funky, cute, decorative paper. Jose (the fiance) & I found some awesome prints at Paper Source. I'll post more pictures when I have all my lighters wrapped up!

'Til next time,

Everyone else is doing it...

Hey there! So I guess the internet is not going anywhere anytime soon and it seems like just about everyone has a blog now-a-days so, after seeing a co-worker's blog, I thought, "Everyone else is doing it, so why can't I?" So here I am! Let's see what kind of wackiness I can come up with here.... :)
